To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday) please telephone 0114 255 6843 at 9am where you will be allocated an appointment time for that morning. Should you require an emergency appointment for the afternoon please telephone the surgery at 2:30pm

Routine Appointments

It is advisable to ring 0114 255 6843 as early as you can to avoid disappointment. Pre-booked appointments are available up to 1 month in advance. Please make a separate appointment for each person wishing to see the doctor. 

If it is deemed appropriate, you may be offered an appointment at one of the GP access centres across Sheffield 6pm to10pm weekdays and 10am to 6pm weekends.

Walk-in Centre

We constantly strive to improve services for our patients. We are aware that at times it is difficult to book an appointment with the GP of your choice. If you cannot get an appointment with a GP then the Walk-in Centre, Broad Lane, Sheffield S1 4BT (8am to 10pm) will see you.

However you choose to contact us we may offer you a consultation:

• By phone
• Face to face at the surgery
• On a video call
• By text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means the doctor or nurse can help you sooner.

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment you will not be seen.

You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Please tell us:

• If there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
• If you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
• If you need an interpreter
• If you have any other access or communication needs

Home Visits

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need.

To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you phone the practice before 9am.

Local GP practices have teamed up to improve the way we provide weekend and evening appointment for our patients.

This new service began on Saturday 1st October and it means that most people will be able to book weekend and evening appointments closer to where they live. For our patients  appointments will be provided at Jordanthorpe Medical Centre and Mathews Practice

Remote and face-to-face appointments can be made with a variety of GP practice staff including Doctors, Advance Care Practitioners, Nurses, Nurse Associates, Health Care Assistants, Physiotherapists and, Pharmacists.

Initially appointments can be booked through your practice, but we will soon be adding the option for patients to book direct online and through NHS 111.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.
